On Saturday 25th April the Royal County played host to Bowls Hertfordshire in the first Inter County Match of the 2026 season.
The match was played on a lovely surface at Bracknell on a beautiful warm day with clear blue skies and plenty of watching supporters. (dare I say almost a crowd). After the match the players and 9 visitors were treated to a wonderful spread laid on by Bev and her happy band of helpers.
The game itself was very competitive and highly entertaining, but unfortunately the final result was not in Berkshire’s favour. The five rinks played were evenly split with both Counties winning 2 rinks apiece with the fifth rink being drawn.

Hertfordshire – 91 shots
Berkshire’s President started his season in a way he would hope to continue, skipping his rink to the Berkshire Top Rink Prize.
